Thomas Weikert does not intend to seek another term as president of the German Olympic Sports Confederation. He has announced that he will step down at the end of his current term. The decision was announced just one week after Munich was selected as Germany’s candidate to host the Olympic Games. Weikert, who previously served as president of the International Table Tennis Federation, has led the German organization for nearly five years.
