The Women’s Tennis Association announced on Thursday that equal prize money for women and men will be introduced at all combined WTA 1000 tournaments from 2027. With this decision, the Italian Open and other events in this category that do not yet offer equal prize money will join the tournaments that have already established equal payments for women and men.

The Women’s Tennis Association announced that, from 2027, all combined women’s and men’s 1000-level tournaments will award equal prize money. The Italian Open will also join the events offering equal prize money.
